Bailey is HERE!

Born on Monday, April 16th at 9:38 pm
7 lbs 7 oz
19 inches long

We are all doing well- very busy and very tired! The labor and delivery went smoothly, for the most part. Bailey needs to figure out this eating thing a little better, but hopefully that will come with time.

We will update more later as we get a chance.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! She is absolutely gorgeous! Oh my gosh - it's so cool to think that just this past weekend, she was tucked snugly inside your cute baby bump and now she is a real live person living in the outside world! Enjoy your beautiful little miracle. You're a mommy!!!! I'm so happy for you!

Congratulations! Glad to hear that mom and baby are doing well!

On a side note: Sometimes the binky can make it more difficult for newborns to latch during feeding. You might want to try going binky-free. Just a suggestion!

    Congratulations...she's amazing!

Don't stress about the breastfeeding thing...the first few days (and weeks) are rough. But the campaign I've developed in my head is: Breastfeeding gets easier every day.

The main thing: you've got to get people to leave you alone, so you and Bailey have some quality time to practice together. What I ended up doing was telling people that the even hours (2, 4, 6 and so on) were our "fun hours" and the odd hours were our "quiet hours. Then at 1, 3, 5 and so on I would try feeding her again. It just helped to have quiet time to practice.

    Good luck!

CONGRATS!!!! I'm so happy to hear that things went well. Some day you'll have to post your birth story. For now, rest, rest, and enjoy!!!!

Breastfeeding is hard. More than once I was in tears and wanted to give up. And that was my THIRD time around. Hang in there!

Actually the lactation consultant recommended binky to improve her sucking. It's getting better, just taking lots of patience and practice, but they are confident that she will do fine with time :)

Thank you all for your comments and I hope to update again within the next few days and post more pictures. Need sleep now...

Me again.....bugspost...don't know why Linda showed up for username.

I wanted to tell you that it is a great idea to NOT have Bailey sleep in your room......you will get more rest that way!! MY son and DIL never had Benjamin sleep in the room with them. He is 20 months old now and has the best sleeping habits. Also, hang in there with the breast feeding....it will work out fine!

AGAIN, I am so happy for you both. The joy of parenthood is upon you!! Bailey is lucky to have such wonderful parents!! God bless you and your special family!
